Polaroid Camera

In 1947, Edwin Land first demonstrated his single-step Polaroid Land Camera, which eliminated the second stage of developing and printing a photograph after the picture had been taken. Land's ingenious solution was to incorporate the entire process form start to finish in the film. Polaroid film contains its own developing and fixing chemicals that begin to work the moment the film is removed from the camera. Land's first black-and-white photo camera was marketed in 1948, and a color-picture version was released in 1963.
