Virtual Reality

Since the 1970's, computer technologists have endeavored to cerate animated graphic images that simulate the appearance and spatial orientation of their actual counterparts such as the "virtual" fish pictured above. Virtual reality specialists have further learned how to make the participant able to act upon and manipulate this artificial "virtual reality." Users of advanced technology may also don a large, complicated headpiece fitted with small screens that feed computer images to the wearer's eyes. Meanwhile, gloves or a full body suit transmit the wearer's position to the virtual reality machinery, giving the participant completely "virtual" experience.
